Visa and Passports

Unless you are an Australian citizen, you will need a valid Australian visa to enter the country. All passport holders, regardless of age, must apply for a visa before leaving home.

Not sure what type of visa you need? Visit the official Australian Visa Finder page.

  1. All non-Australian passport holders need the correct visa before traveling to Australia. Use the Visa Finder to explore your options.

  2. Attendees from certain countries may qualify for an Australian ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) visa, a visa-equivalent, electronically stored authorization that allows eligible passport holders to visit Australia for short-term tourism or business purposes. ETAs are linked to your passport and don't require a label. Once approved, you can show your passport at the airport to enter Australia. Check your ETA eligibility by visiting the Australian ETA page.

  3. Your passport must be valid for six months.

  4. Check twice, submit once. Ensure all details are correct and provide all required documents when you apply. An incomplete or incorrect application can delay your visa.

  5. Submitting multiple applications at the same time can slow the process. For visitor visas, submit one application per person, including children.

  6. Questions? The Australian Government's Global Service Centre can help.

Letter of Invitation

This document may be needed to apply for a business visitor visa.

If a Letter of Invitation is requested, complete the Visa Letter of Invitation form. As visa requirements can take several weeks, Letters of Invitation will only be arranged before 31 August 2024. Letters of Invitation requested after this date cannot be provided unless waived by the FFWN CEO or appropriate FFWN Officer.

Health & Safety

The Australian Government does not currently have any COVID-19 requirements in place for travellers entering and departing Australia.

COVID-19 however continues to pose a health risk in Australia and overseas. You are strongly encouraged to wear masks and be vaccinated while traveling internationally. You should practice good cough and hand hygiene, and physically distance from others where possible. (Source)

For your safety, it is a good idea to follow these General Behavior Guidelines:

  • Wear a mask in public transports, taxis, and similar passenger transports

  • Social distancing

  • Frequent hand washing

  • Respiratory etiquette
